Eating habits are some of the most complex of human behaviours. They are learned bahaviours, deeply established and strongly influenced by culture, ethnicity, sometimes religion, even family.

More than social influences, however, emotional influences play a big role in why, when, and what we eat.

This change may take time, and it should. Fast diets may get results now, but it is the change in lifestyle habits which lead to genuine and long-lasting change, reaching out and into your adult years.

Usually, this change will involve:

  • learning about and developing healthier eating habits;
  • taking small but sure steps in a consistent direction;
  • controlling the environment and situation to reduce exposure to temptation; and
  • learning self-monitoring and self-management.

So what does a consultation with me look like?

I don’t work on a per-appointment basis; instead, we work together month-to-month. When you consult with me, your first month is actually two or even three appointments, depending on your schedule and what we decide to do.

Your health is never just about food and exercise. How you sleep and how you manage your day-to-day stress is just as important. It is about where you are now, where you want to be, and what is standing in your way.

Whether your goal is to enhance your overall health and well-being, lose weight, keep weight, or gain weight, we can work together on a plan that fits your needs and your lifestyle.

I prefer to be hands-on and walk with you along your path, co-creating a realistic plan for you, helping you to identify and resolve obstacles to your goals, assisting you to follow the steps to achieve them and – importantly – helping to keep you accountable to them.

I don’t follow any specific diet philosophy; rather, I work with you based on what you like: whether you prefer a low-carb diet, are vegan or vegetarian, include animal protein in your diet, or have a cultural, spiritual, or religious preference, we work together to find the best way for you.

What will this cost?

The initial month, including an in-depth health evaluation, will be R850.00. if you wish to work together as a couple, I offer a discounted rate of R1550.

Thereafter, you pay only R550.00 per month for ongoing mentorship and discussions around your individual journey, along with amendments and fine-tuning as required.

  • discuss your medical history;
  • look at your lifestyle habits;
  • consider your emotional and mental health;
  • talk about where you are now, and where you want to be;
  • think about what obstacles or challenges might be in your way, and how we can move past them; and
  • depending on these, we will outline a starting plan and homework.
  • take a look at your homework;
  • fine-tune a nutritional and exercise plan that works for you;
  • consider practical ways to address any obstacles we may find; and
  • discuss ongoing support, coaching, or mentorship.

The majority of our appointments will be virtual. I strongly believe that life’s challenges should not get in the way of the support you need. I understand that not everyone can travel easily, or you may have work commitments that tie you to an office or a particular set of hours. You can expect the same level of professional support, care, and compassion as you would in person, and this also keeps your costs down. Virtual appointments mean that it has never been easier to prioritise your own health!
